ABBIE CARR ATTENDING PENN STATE BERKS Abbie Carr, a 2017 graduate of Bellefonte High School, is playing at DIII Penn State Berks in Wyomissing, PA. She is currently working on a baccalaureate degree in Kinesiology with the intent of getting a graduate degree in Athletic Training. The advice she gives to current or future players is this: "This is just a game. Volleyball is just a sport. Work hard at it, set goals, win championships, and battle everyday to be better. Just make sure you take things away from this game that will benefit you in the long run. GARNER FINISHES HER CAREER AT ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE Mackenzie Garner, a 2015 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School, finished her academic and athletic career at Elizabethtown College in Lancaster, PA in 2019. Mackenzie's major was Actuarial Science with a minor in Data Analytics. She earned second team All Landmark Conference honors her freshman year and then first team honors her sophomore, junior and senior year. Mackenzie topped off her excellent career being recognized as the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete in 2019. GOMISH FINISHES HER CAREER AT BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY Sarah Gomish, a 2014 graduate of Bishop Carrol, went on to continue her volleyball career at Lock Haven University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching and Psychology and was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) 2nd Team (2014) and 1st Team (2015). REED FINISHES HER CARRER AT MOUNT ALOYSIUS AS FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR Katie Reed, a 2013 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, continued her academic and athletic career at nearby Mount Aloysius College where she played volleyball for four years. In 2017 Katie was named the Female Athlete of the Year before graduating from MAC with a degree in Business Administration. In addition, Katie is nearing the completion of her MBA with a concentration in Data Analytics from Purdue University-Fort Wayne. Katie says, "Work hard and stay humble. Don't take a single learning opportunity for granted because the skills you acquire during your time with HVC aren't just volleyball related. They'll transfer to life and your career." ALYSSA LUTHER FINISHES HER PLAYING CAREER AT SAINT VINCENT Alyssa graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle in 2012 and then earned her Bachelor's Degree from Saint Vincent University in psychology. She played volleyball all four years Hat Saint Vincent as a setter before completing her Master's Degree in Social Work at the Univesrity of Pittsburgh. Alyssa's advice to younger players is to "Have fun! Time flies, but some of your greatest memories in life are going to come from your volleyball career.
